Little Beach
Little Beach in Bouddi National Park is the perfect place for nature kids to stretch their legs AND their imaginations. A wild little cove with seabirds, driftwood, and a creek, you'll find ample opportunities to engage with our wonderful Central Coast beachside environment. Plus, there's a few different ways to walk in, so you can mix it up each time you visit.
We love Little Beach for its accessibility and the wild feel of its rocky shores. Together they make for a nature experience that's easy for families and super satisfying!
Walk in via one of three short paths through Bouddi National Park and dip your toes in the Tasman Sea. The south side of the cove has some lovely big rock pools to paddle in, and the north side is full of a colourful collection of rocks, shells and driftwood.
There's a shallow creek running down to the shore, with a wooden bridge crossing over it. Nature kids love manipulating the flow of water here, with plenty of pebbles and sticks to build mini dams and bridges.
This isn't a beach we've gone swimming in - it's normally a bit too rough for us, and it's not patrolled. There's plenty to enjoy on shore though! Keep an eye our for local bird life, and the occasional sea critter washed up by the tide.
Getting To: Little Beach, Bouddi National Park
The other way in is a little longer (around 3k return), but it boasts some excellent views. Park on Marine Pde, Macmasters Beach. There's a path going uphill between houses 85 and 87 - climb up here and then follow Macmaster Parade to the left, to reach the Macmasters Beach Walking Trail. This heads steeply uphill, between some houses, until it hits Beachview Esplanade. Turn left here and walk to the end of the street. Here you'll find Mourawaring Moor fire trail. Follow the trail signs down to Little Beach. The bonus of going this way is that on the way back, you'll end up at the Macmasters Beach Surf Club - a great spot to stop for lunch or a well-deserved coffee!
